What’s New in Avenir: Broader Content and Smarter Approvals

August 2026: Avenir introduces a redesigned booking experience, expanded global coverage, and new tools to streamline travel program management.

As traveler expectations and program requirements evolve, the technology supporting corporate travel needs to evolve with them.

Once the foundation of a strong travel program is set, progress doesn’t always come in the form of a major launch. Often, it happens through thoughtful enhancements that make everyday tasks easier, expand access to content, and give travel managers more choice, more savings, and less friction.

Below, we take a closer look at Avenir’s latest developments and how they can support travelers and travel programs.

A Redesigned Booking and Trip Experience

Avenir’s updated homepage creates a cleaner experience for searching and booking air, hotel, car, and rail. Consolidated traveler actions and guided workflows make it easier to access key tools such as loyalty programs, additional travelers, guest bookings, and available flight credits.

The trip details page has also been redesigned to simplify post-booking trip management. Travelers can more easily view transaction history for credits, exchanges, and refunds, with faster navigation and a consistent experience across booking types.

For travel administrators, new Company Credits capabilities make it easier to put eligible unused airline tickets back to work. Transferable credits can be moved from an individual traveler into a company credit pool for use by other employees, helping organizations reduce ticket waste and capture more value from existing travel spend.

New interactive seat maps allow travelers to compare seat locations, cabin layouts, and characteristics such as legroom. Loyalty failure notifications also alert travelers when a supplier is unable to accept their loyalty number during booking, helping them address the issue before departure.

Together, these updates make it simpler for travelers to manage more of their journey independently, supporting greater self-service while reducing common points of friction.

More Airline Content and Global Points of Sale

To give travelers access to a broader range of fare options and potential savings as airline distribution continues to evolve, Avenir has expanded its direct NDC content with Lufthansa Group in the U.S. and Singapore Airlines in Singapore. Travelers can shop and book eligible content within Avenir while also managing changes and cancellations through self-service.

Global coverage has expanded with new points of sale in Singapore and Hong Kong, bringing Avenir to 17 global POS across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. These additions support Avenir’s global-first strategy, giving multinational organizations access to local content and market-specific capabilities while maintaining a single platform experience worldwide. Travelers benefit from more relevant regional content, while travel managers gain consistency and control across markets.

Smarter Flight Approvals and Automated Booking

New Avenir approval enhancements provide greater visibility into policy exceptions and reduce manual steps in the booking process.

Avenir approvers can now compare an out-of-policy flight side by side with the lowest available in-policy fare, including itinerary differences and potential savings. That additional context can help organizations make more consistent decisions about policy exceptions, rather than asking an approver to make the decision based on price alone.

For customers using pre-booking approval, Avenir can now automatically book eligible reservations once approval is granted. Travelers no longer need to return to Avenir to complete the transaction after receiving approval, helping approved trips move to ticketing faster and reducing the risk of the reservation expiring.

These updates provide greater transparency around policy decisions and streamline the steps between requesting, approving, and booking business travel.
