Responsibilities

Overview

Title: Sr. Proposal Writer

Overview
Senior Proposal Writer will report to the Director of Strategic Corporate Communications and will work alongside the Corporate Communications team to provide proposal writing to maximize both new business and client retention. Senior Proposal Writer will have day-to-day involvement in the development, production and submission of all assigned bid opportunities including responses to RFIs, RFPs and open-ended invitations to bid on travel management solutions. Senior Proposal Writer will interface closely with the Marketing team as well as Sales and Account Management and will coordinate with appropriate SMEs to determine concept, strategy and timeline for each bid opportunity. Processes will include gathering relevant and sellable information; evaluating and editing existing verbiage; creating new proposal language; and soliciting contributions from appropriate areas within the company to be used for compelling proposals. Senior Proposal Writer will be experienced in Direct Travel’s RFP tool and will assist in maintaining the library of current and effective proposal material in the database.
Senior Proposal Writer will be expected to provide professional writing services for initiatives outside the bid process, including but not limited to: website content, client communications (newsletters, alerts, announcements and correspondences), PR campaigns, white papers, press releases and trade articles, as needed.

Sr. Tax Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:
Direct Travel, Inc., a rapidly growing DTC based corporate travel management company is in need of a high performing, efficient, deadline-oriented tax senior associate with a focus on SALT work (but will be heavily involved in federal work as well) to support the tax department function with duties related to financial reporting, income tax compliance, additional reporting requirements and analysis of technical tax and accounting calculations.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide key support for the financial reporting functions with a focus on the state income tax provision and US income tax compliance. A tax technical knowledge base and related practical experience is required. The position will report to and work closely with the VP of Tax in order to successfully and efficiently meet tax department objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and review federal and state corporate income tax returns
  • Prepare federal and state corporate income tax provision calculations
  • Prepare federal and state estimated tax payment calculations
  • Prepare state and local property tax returns
  • Reconcile tax expense and liability accounts
