In a move certain to simplify the booking process for its travel advisors, North American travel group Direct Travel has announced a significant enhancement to its proprietary Direct Lift technology platform.
Launched in 2022 to enable its advisors to reserve, ticket, change, cancel, and invoice air transactions, the tool can now provide agents with access to its leading hotel agreements in an easy-to-use interface that can be accessed 24/7 across the globe.
In addition to the Virtuoso Hotel Program and the Direct Travel Global Hotel Program, Direct Travel is proud of its Preferred Partner status with many of the world’s finest hotel groups, including Accor, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Belmond Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Dorchester Collection.
“Post pandemic, we are seeing a huge surge in the demand for FIT travel,” says Stephen Smith, Direct Travel’s SVP of Strategy & Marketing. “Having access to exclusive rates and complimentary amenities and benefits, such as airport transfers, upgrades, daily breakfast, early check-in and late check-out makes using a Direct Travel advisor invaluable.”
Best of all, he adds, Direct Lift is extremely user-friendly and perfect for the advisor not familiar with the GDS. “With a quick and intuitive search, our 900-plus leisure advisors can access the best pricing in a straightforward interface.”
Smith also pointed out that Direct Travel’s deep engagement in the corporate and incentive travel sector means that the company’s buying power on the accommodation side is significantly stronger than a retailer which specializes only in leisure travel.
“The new Hotel booking interface is simple to use and clearly defines the various rate codes and their amenities” said Deanna Rigby-Sutherland, who won the GEM Trip award for top usage of Direct Lift as an air booking platform. “Ultimately, it allows me to spend more time focusing on my clients.”
